With Halloween just one week away, you are probably putting the finishing touches on costumes, buying candy, and marking your calendar for the neighborhood trick-or-treat event. Below are the trick-or-treat times for Hampton Roads cities:
Hampton: Dusk until 8 p.m.
Newport News: Dusk until 8 p.m.
Yorktown: 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
Williamsburg: 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
Portsmouth: Dusk until 8 p.m.
Suffolk: Ends at 8 p.m.
Virginia Beach: Dusk until 8 p.m.
Chesapeake: 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.
In addition to neighborhood trick-or-treating, there are several other Halloween events taking place around the area.
Trick or Treat at Bass Pro Shops
Address: Bass Pro Shops, 1972 Power Plant Pkwy, Hampton
Time: 4-8pm
Activity: Trick or Treating for kids 12 and under. Costume parade at 6pm.
Trick or Treat at Patrick Henry Mall
Address: Patrick Henry Mall 12300 Jefferson Avenue Newport News
Time: 6-8pm
Activity: Trick or treating at the mall, no masks please.
And for the older ghosts and ghouls, check out Howl-O-Scream at Busch Gardens in Williamsburg. This event offers chills and thrills to guests brave enough to venture into this park. Stroll through Wendigo Woods, attend a darkly entertaining show like Monster Stomp, or explore six haunted houses waiting for those daring enough to enter the park after dark.
Please note, at 6 p.m. Busch Gardens becomes a seriously scary place and may not be suitable for little ones. Please use discretion when bringing children into the park at this time. Howl-O-Scream is open weekends through Oct. 26.
