Our local real estate market has seen a significant recovery this past year, with closed transactions in Greater Williamsburg up significantly over the prior year. Inventory levels fell to below 6 months for the first time in the past 5 years last summer, although it has expanded again over the holiday months (which is typical for the season). And, although interest rates inched up a percentage point last year, rates are still at historically low levels, making home ownership as attractive as ever.
