Military families retiring to Williamsburg, VA are getting more than just a fairly mild climate, they are getting a highly rated retirement town.
The magazine “Where to Retire” selected Williamsburg, Virginia as a top retirement town. According to Editor Mary Lu Abbott, “Williamsburg residents get the best of two centuries. Retirees can enjoy the perks of modern-day America, complete with fine dining, art museums and theme parks, and in the same day have an 18th-century adventure in Colonial Williamsburg. The College of William and Mary adds to the sophistication and culture and offers extensive leisure-learning opportunities.”
With over 700,000 Americans relocating to new towns to retire each year, retiring to Williamsburg, VA is becoming more common. However, Williamsburg has many things to do for non-retirees as well; and with military discounts at places like Busch Gardens and Colonial Williamsburg, members from Ft. Eustis and Langley AFB should definitely make that short drive with their families and enjoy everything that Williamsburg has to offer.
