Preserving the heritage of Chesapeake Bay watermen, this museum sits right on the Yorktown waterfront next to Riverwalk Landing. Dedicated to those who make their living on the water, you will learn boatfuls (pardon the pun!) of information about how their craft was shaped, and took its rightful place in history as the "Wooden Boats and Iron Men". Learn more about the first Virginia watermen and Native American Indians, who went on to teach the Colonists to fish and set nets. View workboat models, and displays featuring crabbing, oystering, clamming, and fishing. Outside you may visit the workboats, try your hand at tonging for oysters, and see the tools of the watermen.
