Whether you are looking for a family-friendly outting, or an event to you make you scream in fear, there is something for everyone this Halloween in Hampton Roads.  The Daily Press recently published a list of some of the most popular happenings this time of year:

Hampton

Monster Maze. 7-10 p.m. Friday-Saturday and Oct. 29-31 at the Downtown Hampton post office, 132 E. Queen St. For ages 11 and older. Tickets: $10 cash only. Tickets can be purchased in advance at Old Point National Bank (101 E. Queen St.) and Stillwater Tavern (555 Settlers Landing Road). Hosted by Downtown Hampton Exchange Club and m2 Pictures.

Spooky Space Trick-or-Treating. Noon-4 p.m. Saturday at the Virginia Air and Space Center. Event includes a scavenger hunt, campfire stories, experiments with MAD Scientist, mini pumpkin catapults, dry ice eyeballs, haunted laboratories and more. Free with museum admission. Guests are encouraged to wear costumes. "Room on the Broom" is the Halloween IMAX movie.

Storytelling Spooktacular, 6-9 p.m. Oct. 30 at Mill Point Park, 100 Eaton St. Event features experiments by Mad Science, songs by C. Shells, creepy creatures from Sandy Bottom Nature Park, entertainment from Jon the Juggling Ginger, family games and kid-friendly terrifying tales from 7-8 p.m. Free admission, food available to purchase. Zombie Contagion Haunted House. 7-11 p.m. weekends through Oct. 31 at Peninsula Town Center, 3420 Von Schilling Drive, Hampton. The Peninsula Jaycees present a zombie haunted house. Tickets: $12. Recommended for ages 13 and older. Guests 15 years and younger must be accompanied by a paid adult (18 and older). No refunds; charity event.

Newport News

An Evening at Endview Plantation, Oct. 30. Guided tours of the site start at 7 p.m. and leave every 20 minutes. Last tour starts at 8:40 p.m. Hear first-person accounts from characters from Endview's history, learn facts about local and national history and experience Endview's nature trail. Admission: $8 per adult, $6 per child ages 6-12. Reservations recommended. Call 757-887-1862. 362 Yorktown Road, Newport News.

Fright Light Laser Show. 5:30, 7, 8:30 and 10 p.m. Oct. 31 at Virginia Living Museum's Abbitt Planetarium. Watch Halloween-themed lasers to the songs of Black Sabbath, Garbage, The Who and others. Program is family-friendly. Members $3, non-members $6. Tickets available at thevlm.org/events/planetarium-shows/holiday/.

DJ Bobby D! & Mixxstar DJs sponsor the fourth annual "Monsters Ball" Halloween Costume Party. 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Oct. 31. Celebrations, 9712 Warwick Blvd. Music, dancing and a costume contest at midnight. Adults only. Cash bar. Donation is $15 in advance, $20 at the door. Williamsburg/James City

Haunting on DoG Street: Blackbeard's Revenge. Oct. 30-31 in the Historic Area at Colonial Williamsburg. Free Halloween trick-or-treat festival for children 12 and under takes place from 5-7:30 p.m. each night. Event features pirate shanties, a costume contest and free M&M Mars treats at the historic buildings and homes along Duke of Gloucester Street. Candy for those with allergies will also be available at select stops.  Participating children must be preregistered.

At 8 p.m., the undead crew members of the pirate Blackbeard, who were tried and hanged on Williamsburg's streets in 1719, will return to seek their revenge. The ticketed program includes a trial of the undead in the Capitol, an encounter with Blackbeard and a ghostly walk through the tombstones, jail and the gallows. Recommended for guests ages 13 and up. Procession of the undead led by pirate zombies to Chowning's Tavern takes place at 10 p.m.

Howl-O-Scream. Starts at 6 p.m. weekends through Nov. 1. Check out "Unearthed: Scarlett's Revenge," a new themed maze in the much-anticipated Halloween event at Busch Gardens Williamsburg made connection with the producer of "The Blair Witch Project." Also look for mazes "Lumberhack" and "Cornered." Tickets $77 for a one-day pass. Contact 800-343-7946 or buschgardens.com for more information.

Family Frights at Jamestown Settlement. 6:30-9 p.m. Friday-Saturday. Elementary school-aged children can trick-or-treat aboard a haunted Susan Constant,Godspeedand Discovery, as well as through the re-created early 1600 fort, listen to ghost stories, play games and walk through a spooky straw maze. $7 per child ages 4-12 and $3 per adult. Tickets available at historyisfun.org.

Creepy, Crawly, Create! 2:45-4:15 p.m. Oct. 30 and 31, Art Museum of Colonial Williamsburg. Make Halloween art inspired by the creatures on display in "Birds, Bugs, and Blooms: Observing the Natural World in the 18th Century." Visitors admitted with Colonial Williamsburg admission ticket.

Kimball Theatre presents "Nosferatu" at 7:30 p.m. and "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" at 11 p.m. Oct. 31. The theater is also showing "Alien" Oct. 25-31. 428 West Duke of Gloucester. For tickets and complete showtimes, visit kimballtheatre.com.

Colonial Ghost Tours. Tours leave at 8, 9 and 11 p.m. most nights. Extended tours available. One-hour historic ghost walk tour through Colonial Williamsburg and the College of William and Mary. Tours groups meet in front of the Kimball Theater. Tickets: $13, $10 (child). Extended tours: $18, $15 (child), and $19.99 for 11 p.m. tours (may vary by demand and season). Southside 

Haunted Ship: Zombie Pirates. Battleship Wisconsin. 6:30-10 p.m. Friday-Saturday and Oct. 29-30. Tickets: $9 for groups of 15 or more, who must book and pay in advance. Doors open at 6 p.m. and tickets are $10. Not recommended for children under age 13, the claustrophobic, or faint of heart. Participants must be able to climb steep ladders and navigate tight, dark spaces. For more information, call 757-664-1000 or visit nauticus.org.

Ghost Train at Northwest River Park. 7-10:30 p.m. Friday-Saturday. Take a half-hour ride through Northwest River Park for a ghoulish tale and spooky sights. 1733 Indian Creek Road, Chesapeake. $10 per person. Advance ticket purchase required. Buy online at cityofchesapeake.net or at any Chesapeake community center or Northwest River Park.

Haunted Lynnhaven: Journey Unto Death and Beyond. 7-10 p.m. Saturday. Visitors will take a guided trip down a haunted boardwalk trail, into the Lynnhaven House in Virginia Beach and hear from the home's builder, Francis Thelaball. Event is recommended for guests 14 and older, but children ages 10-13 can attend with a parent or guardian. Attendees can wear Halloween costumes but are asked not to wear masks. $5 per person.

Virginia Symphony's "Halloween Spooktacular." 3 p.m. Sunday. Sandler Center for the Performing Arts, Virginia Beach. Join Benjamin Rous and the Virginia Symphony Orchestra for an afternoon of spooky music. Tickets, starting at $10, available at virginiasymphony.org.

Haunted Hunt Club Farm. Events start at 7 p.m. Box office opens at 6:30 p.m. $25 admission includes entry to the Haunted Hayride, Village of the Dead and Field of Screams, entry into the farm, nightly entertainment and more.
