Liz Moore & Associates and the Linda Matney Fine Arts Gallery have teamed up to bring you Williamsburg’s first ever New Homes + Art Tour on Sunday, July 26th from 1- 5 pm. Tour 6 brand new custom homes in Ford's Colony, view a variety of amazing work from popular local artists, and enjoy complimentary wine and light hors d’oeuvres. 
Why new homes and art? “It’s a natural fit,” says Lee Matney, owner of the Linda Matney Fine Art Gallery on Richmond Road. “Artists are always searching for new venues, and this gives us the opportunity to display our work in a natural setting, so that patrons can easily envision how the pieces will look inside their own homes.”
Liz Moore & Associates is known for innovative ways to market its portfolio of fine properties. “The Art Tour offers us the chance to welcome a new prospective audience to see our new home inventory in Ford's Colony, and at the same time, benefit the local arts community,” says Liz Moore, owner and President of Liz Moore & Associates. “Our marketing theme this year is Love Where You Live, and the burgeoning arts community is definitely a draw to Coastal Virginia, and Williamsburg, in particular.”
Popular local artists Bob Oller and Martha Jones, along with others, will be on hand inside the homes to discuss their work and inspirations. A wide variety of pieces chosen by Matney will be on display, featuring artists ranging from Anil Thambai, an artist living and working in India to Paul Light, an abstract artist from Atlanta. Tom Wessells, a furniture artist from Newport News who has shown his works at the Renwick Gallery, will discuss his many works which will be on exhibit. Newcomer to the Williamsburg scene Tobin Karicher will present his classically rendered landscapes and Newport News’ favorite Gloria Coker will showcase a diverse series of her works.
Christi Harris, head of the art department at CNU, and Bruton High School art teacher Helen Lowery, along with her husband, Jayson Lowery, a professor at William & Mary, will also have their work featured. Artists range from new on the scene, like Kristen Peyton, a William & Mary grad with a full scholarship to an art school in New Hampshire to Art Rosenbaum, a storied muralist whose work was recently selected for the permanent collection of the Smithsonian.
There is something for every taste, with work ranging from Appalachian landscapes by Jeff Surace to photographs by Rob Hunter, and small figurative works by Kent Knowles of Savannah College of Art and Design.
Homes on tour range from $590,000 to $875,000, and include the 2014 Southern Living Showcase home built by Wayne Harbin Builder, this year’s Southern Living Builder of the Year, as well as the newly completed Blue River Cottage, built by Stephen Alexander Homes, who also recently was honored as the builder of the 2015 Coastal Living Idea House. Westmoreland and Marquee Homes each have stunning masterpieces of their own inside Eaglescliffe, a special enclave of luxury homes within Ford's Colony. The tour will be rounded out with 2 distinct homes built by Mike Carroll of award winning Hallmark Builders, including his signature cape cod overlooking the Blackheath golf course in the Killarney section of Ford's Colony.
There is no charge to attend the tour, but you will be able to buy 50/50 raffle tickets on the day of the show to benefit the Williamsburg Symphonia.
“If this year is as successful as we anticipate,” says Moore, “we are hopeful that it will grow into an even bigger event next year, and become a generous fundraiser for an arts related cause.”
