Have you thought about selling your home this season but decided to put it off until thehow much is my home worth spring? You certainly wouldn’t be the only one, and perhaps that’s exactly why you should consider putting that sign in the yard now.

Serious Interest
Selling your home during the winter months can provide some benefits that you wouldn’t enjoy in the busy spring season. While there may be fewer showings through the winter, buyers looking at this time are more serious. They need a home and are looking to move sooner rather than later. This means it may take fewer showings - which are not exactly convenient - to find a buyer.

Curb Appeal Gets Colorful
You’ve already spent hours decorating your home for the holidays. Why not leverage that festive appeal to attract potential buyers? Christmas lights, a sparkling tree, fragrant candles--they all add to the overall impression buyers take away.

Beat the Heat and the Competition
Additionally, as more homes become available in the spring, this increased inventory can lead to lower home prices. With fewer homes for sale in the winter, you may be able to sell for a higher price per square foot. There’s not a much better Christmas present than that!

When you consider the entire moving process, from renting moving trucks or hiring a moving company to finding a storage unit, most companies are slower during the winter. This can be a bonus for their winter customers who can receive more attention and experience less stress during the slow season. Some companies may even drop their non-peak season prices.

Hosting and Hiring the Family
Practically speaking, why not put those holiday guests to work? Organizing, cleaning and packing are easier and more fun when they become a team effort. Your loved ones may also help you choose which furniture or other items can be donated or gifted and transport the items for you. Just don’t forget to blast the Christmas music while you work!
